Overheard on The T: October 16th, 2023

I'm getting a bit hard of hearing in my old age, and some of the rumors I hear during my morning commute may sound outlandish. Can anyone confirm what I'm hearing?
Swift Dating Kelsey

The sports world has been abuzz this year with the unconfirmed rumors that Taylor Swift has been dating this old actor named Kelsey Grammar? Has anyone else heard this? Although news of Swift’s love life is often newsworthy, this has created a media feeding frenzy.
Personally, I’m confused by this. He hasn't been relevant since his semi-successful show in the 90’s called “Frasier”, when he portrayed a psychiatrist. Perhaps that's what attracts her to him? It's not like she can't afford to pay one. Perhaps a publicity stunt to promote his yet to be released Frasier reboot. I think I heard that she has been showing up to his performances, and cameras are just eating it up!
Oh, to be a fly on the wall to hear her chit chats with his brother, Miles. I guess she slept over in his Seattle condo this week? Cruel Summer, indeed.
Speaker of the House

Here’s another thing I heard that can definitely be filed in the “why is this news?” category. I normally avoid political conversation but this one was too juicy to pass up.
Supposedly House Republicans are debating which speaker to install in their house. Huge waste of taxpayer dollars here. I'm not sure the exact details, but the debate is raging online. Can't they would just research online like the rest of us?
We are an Amazon Alexa household. Bunchy can vouch. The last thing I overheard was that Jordan was helping. Anyone able to confirm? Great basketball player, but does he know anything about speakers? Better hurry up, I think Prime Day already ended.
Plastic Bag Ban

Locally, the City of Pittsburgh is enacting a plastic bag ban. I'm not hip to new social media trends and Tik Tok hooplah, but one can only assume that these young progressive types are behind it. Talk about a slippery slope!
Personally, I am backing the ban. It’s hard for Bunchy to believe people would have that type of surgery. I might sound old-fashioned, but I think it's time we get back to the way it used to be– when your nuts were only transported in an organic sack.
